UNLOCKING THE POTENTIAL OF ALTERNATIVE ASSETS
We all have friends, family or loved ones who have been impacted by cancer and all of us, at one time or another, have been pulled into its devastating wake. Cancer is horrible, but there is nothing more unfair than a cancer diagnosis of a child.

Canada Gives is a public foundation and registered charity, established in 2005 by Denise Castonguay to support the expansion of philanthropic foundations and increase long-term giving opportunities for donors to make their legacy count in Canada and abroad.
Canada Gives offers committed philanthropists the most flexible and administratively simple way to support funding of their preferred charities through our customized Donor Advised Funds (DAFs).
Most of our DAFs operate as family foundations, giving donors the ability to fund their preferred charities to meet immediate needs, as well as creating a long term funding base to support charitable programs each year.
Our unique philanthropic foundation administration platform enables donors in Canada to allocate any gift between today and tomorrow’s funding and build a high-impact foundation.
Contemporary Calgary aims to provide Calgary and its visitors with a significant visual arts destination dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
The former Centennial Planetarium, itself a significant work of architectural art, is being transformed into a world-class gallery where we will deliver outstanding local, national and international contemporary art programming. Core to our vision, we aspire to become a leading voice among arts institutions by embracing our welcoming, inclusive, engaging and relevant values.
Contemporary Calgary began with a collaboration of visual arts partners, including the Institute of Modern and Contemporary Art (IMCA), the Art Gallery of Calgary (AGC) and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MOCA) in co-operation with members of the Calgary visual arts community. Chad Larson serves as a Director on Contemporary Calgary’s board.

A gala evening that celebrates the father and daughter relationship, while raising funds for Kids Cancer Care.
Kids Cancer Care is able to support kids and families, fund new research and hospital programs because of the time and dollars you give. Whether you’re a volunteer who gives time, a donor who provides financial support, a friend who Shaves Your Lid for a Kid®, someone who organizes a fundraising event or someone who attends one of our signature fundraising events, you are one of the hundreds making a difference in the world of childhood cancer every day.
In 2020, MLD Wealth Management sponsored the Kids Cancer Care ‘Food and Beverage’ table which helped give the crowd sustenance throughout the night. The event went on to raise thousands of dollars to help the cause.
Money raised helps fight childhood cancer on five fronts; with laughter at camp, the best care at the hospital, year-round family programs, innovative science in the lab and by making brighter futures possible with post-secondary education scholarships.
Harry Kiyooka’s and Katie Ohe’s vision is to develop and establish a world-class, visual arts centre and sculpture park that encourages and inspires creativity in a tranquil, natural forest and wetlands habitat. KOAC will be a permanent cultural legacy for the communities of Springbank, Rocky View County, the City of Calgary and the Province of Alberta. KOAC will offer a dynamic environment for the academic research, art education, and for the promotion and exhibition of the best in Canadian and international contemporary art.
To establish the Centre, Katie and Harry donated their 20-acres Springbank property, their art collection, library/archives, personal works, and a generous endowment fund. Their motivation was simple and humble: to give back to the community by preserving their land and a unique ecosystem intact, by promoting the local cultural identity through increased participation in Calgary vibrant arts scene, and by contributing to the cultural enrichment and community pride of the city.
